Healthy Traditions Network (HTN)-The Metro-Detroit Chapter of the Weston A. Price Foundation is presenting a class on culturing dairy and non-dairy alternatives.
We will demonstrate how to make yogurt (dairy and non-dairy), kefir, cheese, and the wonderful ways you can use these cultured items in recipes. We will talk about the types of milk and milk alternatives, and how to choose the best quality ingredients. Cultured dairy, a staple in traditional cuisine, provides beneficial enzymes to our digestive systems, lowers cholesterol, protects against bone loss and guards against infectious illness. Pasteurized and commercial versions of cultured dairy do not provide the same benefits. Once started, cultured dairy is easy to replicate. Taste samples, receive recipes and learn of resources.
